Privacy policy.
How we collect, use, store and disclose personal information. Last updated 17 August 2026.
1. Scope
This policy explains how Bus Hire In Sydney, a Waggie Group business, handles personal information. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It covers information collected through https://bushireinsydney.com, by phone, by email and in the course of providing charter services.
2. What we collect
Typically: your name, phone number, email address, the organisation you represent, and the details of the trip you are enquiring about — pickup and drop-off addresses, dates, times, passenger numbers and any special requirements you choose to tell us, such as accessibility needs.
We may also collect billing information, correspondence with you, and technical information generated when you use this site, such as your IP address and browser type. We do not deliberately collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act; if you volunteer health or accessibility information so we can allocate a suitable vehicle, we use it only for that purpose.
3. Why we collect it
To quote your job, to arrange and operate the charter, to communicate with you about your booking, to invoice and collect payment, to meet our legal and accreditation obligations, and to respond to complaints. We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell or share enquiry details with lead-generation networks.
4. How we collect it
Directly from you in almost every case — through the quote form on this site, by phone, by email, or in person. Where a booking is made on your behalf by an event organiser, school or employer, we may receive your details from them.
5. Who we disclose it to
Only where necessary: to the driver allocated to your booking; to another Waggie Group operator or a sub-contracted accredited operator where your job requires a vehicle we do not have available, in which case we will tell you; to our payment processor and accounting provider; to our insurers or legal advisers where relevant to a claim; and to a government authority where required or authorised by law.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, including email and hosting providers, may store data on servers outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Cookies and analytics
This site uses only what is needed to serve the pages you request. If we add analytics in future, this policy will be updated before it is deployed, and you will be able to control non-essential cookies through your browser.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain booking and financial records for as long as required to run the business and to meet legal obligations — generally seven years for financial records — and destroy or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.
9. Data breaches
We maintain a response plan for data breaches. Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10. Access and correction
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period and will tell you if we need to refuse access, along with our reasons.
11. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at contact@bushireinsydney.com and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
